Green building for residential and commercial construction is defined by the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program, a voluntary standard that defines high-performance green buildings that prevent pollution, reduce energy usage, and use natural light and air ventilation in addition to recycled materials.
